Wella educator Alyssa Jessen spent some time with our team today discussing color contouring. We all know hair color can bring a change of mood and confidence to your life, but have we ever really thought about why we get that feeling? Both as colorists and salon guests, we often know when something looks great, but the why is another topic.

Just as in makeup artistry, hair can be contoured to enhance or diminish facial features and overall balance a look. The play of light, depth, tonality, and application on the right haircut can come together to create a masterpiece.
